Mitchell! Oh so you are such a sweet babe! I mean, look at those cheeks, toes and lips! At 2.5 months Mitchell was so aware and full of personality. His mom & dad are head over heels for him as you can see 🙂 His mama was *glowing* – which is near impossible to do when you have a new baby (keep sleeping little man!).
I love photographing families who have a new baby – I can *never* get enough of that. What I love even more, is photographing families who have just had their first baby. Yes, they may be tired, a bit scattered, and…well just tired ha! BUT they are SO HAPPY. All of them! There’s nothing like watching people who are still getting familiar with their first baby. It’s all so new and amazing (even the hard parts) and they’re just happy to be going through it all. It leaves me feeling energized, happy and excited for their journey.
Here’s a peek at Mitchell’s Lifestyle Newborn session!
Thank you Emily & Eric for having me photograph your beautiful family and being so welcoming ❤ I hope to see you again as Mitchell grows! xo
Sessions are an investment. It’s a big decision who you decide to have to photograph your family, especially if you’re in the market for the first time. You want to be sure that you will be happy with your photos, and sometimes it might seem like a lot to risk. I get it, which is why I am SO THANKFUL for each and every one of you that comes to me!
This year only, I will be offering something new for those of you who would love to have their photos done, but just aren’t sure if you want to go all in for a full session. Mini sessions! Yes…it’s happening. For the FIRST TIME I am offering family/child mini sessions from May through August. If you’ve had mini sessions done with me in the past, but NOT a full session, this is available to you as well! Minis will only be offered weeknights, but if you can swing it, it’s a great chance to take advantage of mini sessions while they’re here.
Mini Sessions: $200:
– 30 minute session
– 10 digital images
– All edited images delivered in an online gallery
– All digital files, via gallery download
I would love to see lots of new families this year, along with my usual amazing loyal clients ❤ Set up your session in advance, rescheduling due to weather is always an option! Erica@photerica.com xo
I know it’s hard to imagine at the moment, but spring IS coming. It is, I promise! The first thing everyone does when the weather warms up is break out their cameras to get fun photos of their kids playing outside. They want good photos wether it’s bright and sunny or dark and cloudy. And you should have them! If you have a camera that you spent a good chunk of change on and still have yet to use it the way you know it should be used…sign up for my class! Learn NOW so that you can practice and be ready when the weather warms up.
We’ll spend 1-2 hours together 1:1, chatting about:
* how to take better photos in low light and bright light (indoors and outdoors!)
* using your camera in manual mode
* basics of your camera and how/when to adjust different features (shutter, aperture, ISO)
* best ways to practice using your camera
* answers to all of your questions and areas you’re having trouble with
We spend time on what YOU want to learn in addition, so that you walk away feeling good about what you’ve learned. And you can always contact me if you run into questions along the way 😉
We’ll pick a time and place that works for you and has the right light settings so that you can actually PRACTICE and LEARN while you’re with me. The best way to learn is to do! I’ll provide you with a cheat sheet of everything we learned so that you don’t need to take as many notes and can focus on your camera.
Trust me. Learn to use your camera. These are your kids, your pets, your friends and family…your life you are documenting. Make sure you have great photos to remember these moments by!
Classes are $150 for up to 2 hours. Discounts are available if you bring a friend!
One thing I love and encourage all my clients to do is bring their dog(s) along for their session, or at least part of it. Pups are such an important part of the family, why leave them out? They greet us happily every time we walk in the door, or even in the room, they snuggle up to us when we’re down, they help our kids learn how to be gentle and learn responsibility and more importantly they love us. They love us all day, every day just for being there.
While I always love a mini-pup session, I think it’s even more important to have one when they are older, a little slower, and time is not on their side. Take 30 minutes to spend time with your pup and take home photos that you will have forever. ❤
They will love the time with you, and you will love the memories them.
This June I will joining up with a local business to offer mini-pup sessions. A portion of the proceeds with go to a local shelter. Details to come. xo

I did it. I logged back into my blog after…wait for it…a YEAR! Ugh, I swore I wouldn’t abandon my blog after rebuilding it. And then came Olive. My beautiful little girl who has completed our family ❤ However, she was not what I would call a good sleeper. For the ENTIRE first year! And so at the end of the day, when the kids were in bed and I was supposed to jump on my computer to keep up with my blog…I went to bed instead. Or laid on the couch and watched cooking shows, or read my book. I was tired, oh so tired. And my blog went ignored.
I’m happy to report that Olive is now sleeping through the night (and getting better at naps), and I am kind of getting better at organizing my time. So here I am again, more awake than before, promising not to ignore my blog this year 🙂 I’ll be updating it with last years sessions to make up for lost time.
I’m SO excited to share this session with you all! My friends Jen and Bob are expecting baby #3 and wanted to have a relaxed at-home session of their family of 4 before it became a family of 5. I loved this idea! At home sessions capture the every day moments that you don’t want to forget, the fun activities that you want recorded with you IN the photos and is just a nice way to have some family time that you can print out for your album.
We baked cookies, played in the soon-to-be baby’s room, did some cuddling on the couch and of course playing, laughing and swooning over mama’s beautiful belly along the way.
Baby is due soon! And I’m so excited to go back for another fun, relaxed at-home session. This time with a family of 5 😀 xo
I am beyond excited that summer is here. Time to start canning 😀 While the garden is growing me things to can (and eat fresh, of course) I decided to start out easy. My sister-in-law told me about a Chive Vinegar recipe from Food In Jars – a canner blog that we both love. Here’s the recipe!! Since my garden is beaming with chive flowers at the moment I figured it would be a perfect start to the canning season.
I didn’t get a photo of the final product (doesn’t look much different anyways)…I had a one year old begging for my attention on my leg 🙂
Radishes?! hehe 🙂 Sharing the first crop of the season in my garden! They were so delicious and peppery!
